Now December has begun, I think it's officially allowed to talk about winter, Christmas and everything involved. The title might be misleading, but no worries I won't start complaining about the cold weather and dark skies, neither will I talk about how stylish grey has suddenly become (and how shocking it is that long grey skirts- the definition of unsexy and boring- are now a quite attractive trend). The aim of this post was to look at some positive aspects of winter and they happen to be presented to you in grey or well, black and white, but that's kind of the same.

I somehow can't really believe it, but in less than 2 weeks I'm going back home. Bye Bye big Berlin, hello little Oostende...Apart from the fact I really want to see my boyfriend, I would have liked to stay here a little longer...But going back home isn't bad or boring either, because when I arrive, I'll have a new home...I don't think I mentioned this on the blog before, but I'm going to live with my boyfriend ( finally!). About a year ago I wasn't really ready for it and still wanted to enjoy the student life, now I'm kinda done with it (although I am still studying) and I can't wait to move in with him, eventhough the place is tiny tiny (cosy?!). I'm quite impressed and grateful he managed to organize all the "boring stuff" without me and once I arrive the fun part can begin... and that of course includes decorating! I'll tell your more soon about our purchases and what is still on my wishlist, but for now some beautiful pictures of the catalogues of a few of my favorite decoration brands. Enjoy!

Yesterday I came across the Balenciaga capsule collection for fw 13 and I immeditaly fell for it. Sometimes you simply see something and you think "Oh I'll wear that too". Well ofcourse ( and unfortunately) I can't afford Balenciaga, but I'm now much more convinced that blue and black really are perfect together, that an orange bag is a musthave (especially with blue) and that it's ok to start buying headbands again. From this little collage you might not really understand what I'm talking about, but if you want to get inspired, definitely take a look at the website (Scroll to the middle of the page).

Here is my favorite hotspot in Berlin, it's also a bar, like the previous one, but it has a completely different style. I'm not sure how exactly I would decribe the Honolulu bar, but it definitely has this Scandinavian vibe and it's really laid back. Most of the furniture is vintage and "books"are probably the main decoration theme. Even the lamps are made of old papers... What I found funny is that apart from the tourists who stay in the hotel, the bar attracts a certain cool young crowd. I would call them "hipsters", but the term has gotten such a negative reputation lately, I'm not sure if I'm still allowed to say this. But think: beanies that aren't taken of inside, cuffed jeans with Nike's, Apple, drinking mysterious organic caffeinated drinks,... What I like about the bar? Hmmm, the delicious brownies, the fact they have proper gin tonics with Hendricks & cucumber slices and the fresh flowers that accesorize the whole space.

Those of you who follow me on Instagram (find me as tripstreasures) will have noticed I'm a big Essie fan. I love the colours, the seasonal collections and the quality of the polish. It's easy to apply, lasts longer than most other brands and on top of that it's affordable. Of course I can't resist to buy a Chanel once in a while (can't beat the packaging) or I go for a very cheap brand when I want a crazy trend colour, but the majority of my nailpolish stash is Essie. Hmm this must sound like an advertorial, but I promise it's not. The only thing that really annoys me is that I can't find these new collections here in Berlin. The fall collection should have been out in October already, but somehow it's not for sale in the stores here, eventhough they do have the "permanent collection" in almost every beauty stores. I could of course get my favorites in Belgium, but they are 3 euros more. So it would be a bit silly, no?

Bloggers wishlists are generally more about wanting than about really needing something...often you could even say they are simply dreaming. Wishlist as collages of the perfect wardrobe. And who can blame them ? I can spend our online looking for a bag I will never buy (or at least not in the coming 2 years) or planning a trip I don't have time to go on. The main theme of my November collage is pink, does that mean I will only buy pink items this month? Definitely not. It just looked pretty. The Alexa book had to be mentioned because the hype made me curious, but by now I heard from several people it's quite boring, so I don't think I'll spend money on it (although more opinions are welcome). The Marant collection is another "hot topic" that had to be "treated" in one of my posts...so here you have my two favorite items of the collection. I have to work on thursday so I'm pretty sure I won't get my hands on any of the items, but let's hope the necklace magically appears. And then we have the Zara blazer and the & Other Stories bodylotion... they are what makes this list real. Affordable and easy to get...but somehow already out of my mind again??? Hmm, am I allowed to make another wishlist? One that shows what I am really wishing for?

My plan was to start making post like this one as soon as I arrived in Berlin, but up to now limited free time forced me to choose between actually experiencing the city or blogging about it. Ofcourse I went for the first option, but I did take some photos along the way... So here they finally are. Let me present to you my first "spot": Shan Rahimkhan

I've been to quite a few fashion events in Belgium already and every time I thought to myself "why don't we organize something like this in my town?". And although I did host a few small closet sales, it never really came to a proper fashion event...So you can imagine how excited I was when I heard the Mondo Hotel decided to have a Fashion Night Out.
(Although I did mean flying home from Berlin for a weekend, but I'm sure it will be worth it)

When I'm not in a "blazer or dress kinda mood" I can always count on my boyfriend jeans and leather jacket...When I don't feel like wearing bright colours, I know I can never go wrong with just black and white. And when I'm having a lazy Sunday with friends I don't mind playing it safe and picking out a combination of both.

In general I'm not really the biggest Swarovski fan. Although I do own a few items by the brand that I really like, I usually find their designs too classic. But when I passed by the store a while a go, something catched my attention... It was a beautiful purple statement necklace, suspiciously similar to the ones made by Shourouk. And guess what... apparently Swarovski now has a special limited collection "Swarovski by Shourouk". Although I'd personally absolutely prefer a "real" Shourouk one, I do think this collection is a good compromise for those who want it slightly more affordable and a little bit less colourful. In my collage I presented one part of the collection, but you can find more on the Swarovski website. Can you guess which item (from the site) is on my wishlist?

Yesterday i got an anonymous comment from someone saying "I'm looking forward to read your new post". I'm pretty sure it was my mom, but nevertheless it reminded me I have been neglecting my little online place for too long. The thing is that when I get home from my internship (after 8 hours behind the pc), the last thing I feel like doing is exactly that... sit behind a desk some more. On top of that I'm out most of the time. After being here for more than a month now, I still feel like there is so much to do and see. But anyway, let's make my mom happy and get back in the "blogging routine" with this little "new in" post. I bought this bag as soon as I discovered it in store, somewhere in September, but I had been saving it for when fall really arrived. When I look outside I see trees with leaves in exactly this pretty burgundy colour, so I'd say the time is right to start using this little fluffy beauty..

These pictures were taken, in the rain, a few days before I got a really bad cold ....
Last Sunday I met up with a friend at "Kaffäin", my favorite coffeebar here in Kreuzberg
( they have very tasty cake as well and wifi). I have loved purple, every shade of it, ever since I was a little girl, so I'm quite happy that right now it's such a trend colour...Purple scarf, shoes and hat.. here we go !

3.1 PhillipLim tee- Saint Laurent bag- J Brand jeans- Opi polish- Lanvin flats- Ray Ban sunglasses- Cartier watch- Dior lipstick- Saint Laurent heels- Kenzo dress- By Malene Birger jacket- Alexis Bittar ring- Hèrmes perfume
This post doesn't really come with an interesting story. Yesterdaynight I couldn't sleep so I decided to start "daydreaming" on Polyvore...Today I'm going shopping and then I'm meeting some friends for dinner in Friedrichshain, nothing fancy, but in my dreamworld this is what I 'd be wearing. Of course in real world, my closet doesn't contain all these beautiful designer pieces, I wouldn't be able to walk in those heels and looking this dressed up in Berlin, especially in my Kreuzberg area, would lead to a lot of "staring behaviour",... Nevertheless, I'm gonna go get dressed now and try to get creative with my own wardrobe... Oh and I might need to buy something grey, because I discovered it looks really chic with navy and some silver accesories

Everyone who's been to Zara lately (or watched the fw13 runwayshows) must have noticed that plaid is THE print of the season. This is definitely one of those trends you can easily incorporate into your outfits... It works for young and old; grunge and preppy,...But I'm taking it slow and starting with this "ienie mini mini skirt"...Be warned, more plaid is coming...

3.1 Phillip Lim- fw13 & SS14- photos by Vogue
I tend to judge collections purely by their "prettiness" and how badly I want them...That might sound a little simplistic, but let's face it: I'm not a fashion expert, more an admirer. I don't know about innovative fabrics or the long history of the brands. I use what I have: my eyes and the vision of what I want to look like. This means that most of the time I'm discussing very wearable brands like Marc by Marc Jacobs or Isabel Marant. Of course, every season, there are a few shows that really impress me, although I know in advance I'll never wear anything like it.
More photos & text behind the break...
