What is fashion ?

My first post !!!

The name of my blog might not make it very obvious, but fashion will definitely be one of the main themes. But what is fashion?  According to the Cambridge dictionary (dictionary.cambridge.org) fashion is: a style that is popular at a particular time, especially in clothes, hair, make-up, etc. I am sure that for some people this definition might make sense, but I am also sure that anyone who agrees with this is a not at all a fashion lover. For them, fashion is so much more. It is a world with a very long history, a million dollar industry, an art, a passion,…The industry might come up with new trends every week, but only the people can make it happen.. Bloggers are getting front row seats at the biggest fashion shows and even magazines like Vogue or Elle can no longer ignore street style. Fashion is becoming more and more democratic. And this time it wasn’t  the industry  that set out this trend. But most of all fashion is very subjective. We all have a very different view of what is fashionable. On the runway all the models might look alike, but in real life every piece of clothing looks different on a different owner.  And personally, I think that is what makes it so interesting. But fashion should not be confused with style. Yves Saint Laurent once said: “Fashions fade, style is eternal”. And I believe he made a very good point. With a classic outfit one can never go wrong. Trends are the cherry on the cake. To me it is all about feeling and (hopefully) looking good in what I wear… I hope this will be reflected in my photos...

I was wearing a skinny jeans, blouse and blazer bought at ZARA, Hilfiger shoes and a big Longchamp bag.

I'm still learning how to work with Blogger, Photoshop, ...

And please correct me if I make any spelling or grammar mistakes ( this is just a great way to practice my English). Ofcourse, you are always welcome to comment, ask questions, give advice, ...
