Antwerp Again

Those of you who read my blog often, will have probably noticed already that I love going to Antwerp, I even created a label for it. Usually I go there for some shopping with my mom or one of my friends, but last weekend I had a long weekend and decided to go for a night with my boyfriend. Here a little " photodiary" :

Competitor for Grand central NY : Antwerp trainstation entrance hall
We were staying at the newly renovated Mondo Antwerp city center
Part of our room, although my favorite part was the big walk-in shower
Quick visit to the " Stadsfeestzaal" right before closing time, empty, but beautiful

Dinner at Brasserie Appelmans, close to the cathedral. ( photo from Google)
The food was good, friendly service and I loved the decoration : simple, modern but very warm and cosy.
After dinner we went to Noxx, a popular ( and very big ) club in the Antwerp port area.
It was my first time there and I'd describe it as a typical club, with popular music and young people. We were there on studentnight, but I'd like to go back once when there is a special dj coming. (photo from google)
Wallpaper in the  hotel...wouldn't mind having a wall like that in my room
My mini's for travelling, so practical
Windowshopping on the " Meir" - Versace for H&M. I have to say that after seeing them from closer, I won't bother getting up early and surviving all the "fashionistas gone wild".
A good " trip" needs a cultural aspect aswell, so we visited the Rubens' house. It's only 1 euro entrance for students and definately worth a look. His paintings are ofcourse impressive, but not at all my style. I was mainly interested in the architecture. It's great we are still able to visit something, in such perfect state, that was built so long ago. From the front it looks like a normal old house ( don't have photos of the front), but the back of the house and the garden clearly show the influence of Italy in Rubens life.

A quick coffee & croissant before going back home.

Have any of you been in Antwerp already ? Any suggestions on where to ship, eat, drink,.. ?
If you're planning to go there, have a look at some of my earlier posts :)

  1. What fantastic photos - it was like we were all there on the trip with you. I love the idea that you took off for a short trip on a long weekend, I need to start doing that more to utilise my long weekends better. The room looked so cosy, and I loved you had your fresh pj's all laid out ready for bed! :) P.s that coffee & croissant photo made my mouth water!

  8. I've heard so much about Antwerp and now after your pics, it's moved up on my must visit list. Interesting comment about the Versace for H&M collection, nice to hear an unbiased opinion amongst the hype. BTW, I wouldn't mind at all you writing about the Mini Miu-Miu's glad you like them, I find them so adorable.
Following you now and looking forward to your posts ;)
