For the readers from Belgium or future tourists : here a little update from the international brands and stores in my country.
About a month ago Superdry opened its first ( and probably last ) store in Oostende, one will be opening in Knokke very soon aswell. For me, their collection is a bit too sporty, but I do like the hoodies for more ""adventurous occasions. It is quite crazy how fast this brand spread in the bigger cities all over Belgium.
Yesterday I went to Forever 21 in Brussels. It was my only free day this week and I just couldn't resist quickly taking the train to have a look at the collection.I discovered this highstreet brand in New York and I think it's great for buying trendy pieces at a very low price. You'll see what I bought in one of my next posts. In a few weeks they will open the second one in Brussels, great excuse to buy some more accesories.
Starbucks is all over Europe, but somehow it took ages before they came to Belgium. At the moment we have ( only !) 3of the famous coffee bars in our country : one at the International airport, one at Brussels central station and one at Antwerp central station. The next one should open soon in Gent, on the Korenmarkt. A little complaint though : why is it much more expensive than in other countries ? Starbucks is expensive enough already. ( But i love frappucinos)
Bjorn Borg should open in Oostende this week aswell. Not really excited about this one, but I decided to mention it anyway for those of you who like oversized, overpriced flashy underwear.
Another opening I'm really looking forward to is the one of the Marc Jacobs store in Brussels.
And especially the fact the store will include a Bookmarc, another
shop I discovered in New York. Great art/photography books and fun MJ souvenirs. Curious what the prices will be like though.
And last but not least, Massimo Dutti is coming to Oostende, I have this feeling that I'll be a good costumer.
If any of you hear of more stores opening here, you are always welcome to let me know :)
Ofcourse there are many more I didn't put in this list, but I just made a small selection of those that are relevant to me.
With all this international brands coming to my country I'll be able to spend more time on my holidays focusing on sightseeing and relaxing rather than shopping. Thank you globalization. But on the other hand , it will be even more difficult to buy something other people haven't seen yet. Any opinions on this ?
