News : Marni + H&M

The Versace for H&M Cruise collection isn't even launched yet and we can already start dreaming of the next H&M collaboration, once again with a famous Italian brand : Marni will design ( or already has) a spring/summer collection for both woman and man, in stores March 8 2012. Check out the Vogue UK website to read how founder Castiglioni describes the collection and even some photos already !!!

Here some photos of the Marni spring/summer ready to wear line. I wonder if the H&M pieces will be similar. From the few photos published already I think it will be.

Photos from Vogue Italy

It is still a bit early to judge but I think this collection might be worth it getting up in the middle of the night. What do you think ?

Today I'm wearing... a faux fur sweater

I should have uploaded this a few days ago, but I already had another post ready so you're getting the sunday post on tuesday.

I was wearing a simple and comfy outfit :
H&M leggings- easier to wear than thights, because they aren't that easy to break
ZARA dress - actually more for party's because it is really tight and short, but its very stretchy and soft, so perfect for relaxing aswell
ZARA faux-fur cardigan- soft and warm
and the beautiful ring my boyfriend gave me( with matching glitter nailpolish)

In the picture : Theyskens' Theory

Olivier Theyskens is definately a Belgian designer to be proud of. After being artistic director at Rochas and Nina Ricci, he now designs ( since 2010) his own succesful collection "Theyskens' Theory", a collaboration with the American "Theory" brand. Here some photos of his fall runway show ( from www.elle.com).

Even if you have a closet as big as a swimmingpool, I think everyone still has a few favorite items that they keep wearing even though they have lots of other options. Maybe we always pick out that dress or bag, because it makes us look extra good or because it holds an important memory. It even is a popular topic in films. ( think :  " the girl with the green scarf" in Confessions of a Shopaholic)

I noticed that lately I've been constantly wearing my Oakwood leather/faux fur jacket, my grey H&M scarf and my Zara cateye sunglasses. But in this case, the reason behind it is purely practical : the jacket keeps me warm and is incredibly soft, the scarf seems so match everything and those sunglasses are the most winter appropriate ones I own.

" Essentiel " for your nails

Last spring the Belgian brand Essentiel launched it's first nailpolish collection : 4 neoncolors. Now the fall collection is for sale in the Essentiel boutiques  aswell : nude pink; light khaki, purple and orange pink. I really like the first colour. What about you ?

Today I'm wearing... a popular sweater

About a week ago I saw Chiara wearing this sweater on " The Blonde Salad", somehow I expected it to be an expensive designer sweater, so when I read she bought it at Zara, I decided to go buy it straight away.
Unfortunately it doesn't look as glamourous on me, as on her, but it will definately keep me just as warm.

Do you like it ?

PS : I received a very cool compliment this week : Veronica from "The fashion fruit", one of my favorite blogs, replied to one of my comments saying she loves my blog. I think it's great that popular bloggers like her still take the time to have a look at our page.

Miu Miu mania

Thanks to the cool blog Berryhaute I found out about the Miu Miu holiday collection this morning. Check out these beautiful mini bags , for me it was love at first sight. Can't even decide which one I like most...Unfortunately, I have this feeling the prices won't be mini.

Imagining I could pick one as a gift, I'd go for the silver one on the fourth photo
or an electric blue or pink clutch on the first photo. What about you ?

Antwerp Again

Those of you who read my blog often, will have probably noticed already that I love going to Antwerp, I even created a label for it. Usually I go there for some shopping with my mom or one of my friends, but last weekend I had a long weekend and decided to go for a night with my boyfriend. Here a little " photodiary" :

Competitor for Grand central NY : Antwerp trainstation entrance hall
We were staying at the newly renovated Mondo Antwerp city center
Part of our room, although my favorite part was the big walk-in shower
Quick visit to the " Stadsfeestzaal" right before closing time, empty, but beautiful

Black is back

I think it was back in 2008( those good old highschool times), when black nailpolish was the absolute trend...Black  nails were no longer a gothic & emo - only accesory, but a must-have for every celebrity and fashionista. After a year or so, the girly and bright colors took over again and we probably all got sick from re-doing our nails every second day. But wether you consider it as a good thing or a bad thing, it seems that black is back.

For the holidays Yves Saint Laurent is introducing " Le smoking manicure", matte black nails with a shiny black tip and of course Chanel ( Black Satin), Lancôme,...all have a black polish in their collections aswell.

Superwoman ?

Miranda Kerr is not only  a succesful model, Victoria's Secret Angel, wife of Orlando Bloom and a mother but also a great casual outfit inspiration. Here 2 of my favorite looks :

Maybe these outfits look so good because she is so beautiful, but dressing this simple and looking elegant is definately a talent. I especially love the burgundy bag and cateye sunglasses.
Both photos are from "The vogue diaries blog",  a great website to check out the most recent celebrity outfits.

Sparkle & Shine

Goodmorning everyone !
Most of you might know that Belgium is famous for it's delicious chocolate, bad weather, tasty french fries, never ending political crisis, Dries van Noten, Magritte, Milow,... but what you probably don't know about is our high-quality diamond industry, located in our city of fashion, Antwerp.

Of course buying diamonds isn't really part of my shopping budget at the moment, but if I can dream of designer handbags, why not have a look at some diamonds already ?  You know what they say :
" Diamonds are a girl's best friend"

I scrolled through the BAUNAT website, a succesful belgian  e-commerce website specializing in diamonds and picked out a few of my favorites for you... Let me know what you think !

This ring is part of the Dancing lady collection, designed by Elke Peeters. Elke is the winner of this years design competition organised by Baunat and the Flanders Fashion Institute. I think the name of the collection is referring to the fact that dancing can really make a woman shine, just as this original piece can make you stand out.

This necklace was designed by Wouters & Hendrix, they have their own famous jewelry brand, but got the chance to work with diamonds for the " Ouverture" collection by Baunat.
The earrings matching the necklace.

Something is missing...

This is what I wore the first day in Karlsruhe, for a walk in the city and some shopping.
Zara burgundy waxed jeans, H&M t-shirt, Zara jacket with  my new boots and Longchamp bag.It was a very comfortable outfit, but when looking back at these photos I feel like something was missing... ( apart from my boyfriend not being there with me)

I think one of these items here could have given my outfit a nice extra touch.

Food & more...Schwarzwald trip, part 1

Last weekend I went on a short family trip to the Schwarzwald region in Germany. We stayed in Karlsruhe, a very energetic city, where I had the chance to do some shopping and meet up with some old friends. But my family and I  also spent a relaxing morning discovering a typical village called Tübingen. To add a more active part to the trip, we went for a walk up in the mountains. Unfortunately, the weather enabled me from taking proper pictures of the amazing views you have from the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse.
But here a few "mood" photos...more tomorrow :)

A break from shopping with a delicious cappucino and one of my favorite
( Austrian) chocolates
Traditional house and street in Tübingen
 A quick "healthy" breakfast
 Tübingen main square
 An old caffee
Part of the slope where I learned how to ski
 Waiting for snow..
Quite traditional , but oh so tasty cake

Looking back of my photos I realized I should have taken more photos of the german "city life", rather than focusing on typical things, because most of my friends have such an old-fashioned view of Germany, seeing it as a place full of mountains and saucages and I would love to show them that it is so much more.

Wanna smell preppy ?

I' ve been loyal to my perfume ( see here ) for a few months now, but this weekend I developed a new perfume crush : Eau de Prep

This is the first time I really like a Hilfiger perfume, it's a sweet smell, but perfect for winter.
And I wouldn't mind my boyfriend wearing the "male" version either.
Unfortunately the bottles are a bit boring.
