HAFENCITY !
This definitely was my favorite part of Hamburg : Hafencity. It is an architectural paradise. I love the mix of the industrial port, old warehouses and very new appartments and offices. I don't think I've even been to a place that felt this "modern" to me. Somehow I could totally imagine myself living there... peaceful yet very urban at the same time. We discovered a few cool cafes, but I'm quite sure that in a few years ( there is still a lot of construction going on at the moment ) this will be a very popular location for going out and shopping. Does anyone of you know the area ? Would love to hear more about it. I find it quite difficult to describe this place to you, so for the rest I'll let my photos speak for themselves.

A trend I couldn't resist...
Do you remember my recent post about the oh so popular leopard sandals ? ( if not, you can read it here and find some shopping links for these kind of sandals aswell ) Well, I finally got a pair myself. I know that in my previous post I wrote about " smart shopping" and thinking ahead ( read it here ) but now summer finally seems to have arrived (probably only for a couple days though ) my thoughts went straight from fall collections back to the present... And today I really needed a pair of sandals.

Buy it now ( on sale ) , wear it later...
Polyvore collage : Buy now, wear in fall... by tripsandtreasures
When I'm SALE SHOPPING , I always try to THINK AHEAD and buy items that will still serve me next season aswell. Especially because of the bad weather we've been having, I really don't see the point of spending my shopping budget on summer dresses and sandals that I'll probably only be able to wear once or twice. ( Although I should admit that ofcourse I did get tempted a few times already )

INSTA FOOD !
Sometimes good food can really be the highlight of your day... Coffee with friends, a romantic dinner with my boyfriend or a quick lunch with my mom...for me it is always something to look forward to. Not only because of the nutritional value of those meals ( hungry hungry ) , but because it's the perfect moment to relax and catch up. Although eating a lot can definitely make you tired afterwards, haha. Those of you who have been to Belgium already, will have probably noticed that food and restaurants are a very important part of our culture. When you ask foreigners to name a few things that are typical Belgian they will probably say " moules et frites", "chocolate" and "beer". Here a little selection of Instagram photos I took over the past few weeks with several delicious meals, desserts and drinks. I decided to mention the name of the places aswell ( a few of my favorites) , so you can visit them if you are ever around.

Hamburg day 2 : a visit to the Rathaus
Yesterday I showed you some general photos of Hamburg centre and our hotel ( see here ), today I'll focus on the area around the Rathaus. I'm guessing this is one of the most important historic buildings of the city and it's definitely worth a quick visit to see the beautiful stairs and the fountain in the yard.

A short trip to Hamburg...day 1
From tuesday to friday I was on a short holiday in Hamburg with my mom and grandmother. When I was younger we used to go on these kind of mother/daughter trips quite often, but as older ( and somehow more busy) as we get it becomes more difficult to plan something. When we finally found a date we were all free we decided to go to Hamburg, a city that is not very known here in Belgium, but popular within Germany and only an hour away by plane from Brussels. None of us had been in the North of Germany yet and we were quite curious to see how it was compared to the more Southern regions and Berlin. Unfortunately, my grandma had some problems with her knee which limited our amount of sightseeing, so we had no other choice than to spend some extra time shopping and having coffee. But considering it is sale time and Hamburg has such a wide variety of stores, that wasn't such a big dissapointment. In this first Hamburg post I'll show you my first outfit and some photos of the city centre...More tomorrow !

My collection of sunglasses...
On Cupcakes and Cashmere I got the idea to "showcase" my sunglasses on a
(pink, floral Ikea )tray rather than simply keeping them in their boxes in my closet.
Having my little collection right in side, makes it very easy to pick a pair
in the morning, although with the depressing belgian weather I hardly need them at the moment.
Which of these sunnies do you like best ?

Today I'm wearing..a new white jeans
Sorry for the crazy hair, but before I start telling you all about my trip
to Hamburg, I wanted to show you an outfit post with my new handbag.
( read more about it here )I bought the bag to wear in fall, but of course I couldn't
resist using it for a few days already...I'm guessing that happened to several of
you already as well ?

Coffee break at The Terrace Oostende
I wanted to share with you some photos taken at the new place in Oostende where my boyfriend is currently working : The Terrace. The building used to be an Irish pub, but is now transformed into a cosy coffee lounge and bar. A few days ago I met there with a few of my friends for coffee and cake ( delivered by Julie's House, read more here ) and of course lots of girltalk, perfect for a rainy (summer!!??) afternoon.

My friend C. in florals
I promised you another outfit post of my friend C., so here it is. I'm used to seeing in her in quite neutral colors but I thought this bright pink skirt and floral top ( see me wearing the same one, here ) really suited her aswell. The perfect comfy combination for a sunny day at the beach.Do you like it ?

Mulberry & Tim Walker
I usually don't really like any science-fiction elements ( meaning the huge furry animals in the background) but on these photos they almost look like they really belong there. But well I'll admit that I was so focused on these beautiful bags, I hardly noticed the monsters at first. Is this what they call a fashion victim ?

Today I'm wearing...a playsuit
This is the first playsuit I have ever owned and I still feel a little weird wearing it. I bought it on sale last week and thought I would only wear it while on a holiday in an exotic country, but when the weather suddenly got a lot better last week I couldn't resist trying it on already for a walk on the beach here in Belgium.
The shape and silky fabric was the perfect compromise between a dress and a bathingsuit.
