Trendspotting: lunch clutch

Do you remember the fall 2012 Jil Sander show where the male models walked the runway with both paper and leather american lunchbags ? Although the idea of a clutch shaped as an actual lunchbag was quite original, the fact that they even sold the paper ones (for designer prices) caused some controversy. But well you can't really blame them for trying, afterall, their (overpriced) red transparent "market" bag turned out to be a hype. But I didn't write this post to criticise their prices, but because now I actually spotted some more sophisticated " lunch bags" in the Jil Sander women collection aswell. The Nuzzi nappa leather lunch bag clutches cost almosts 500 euros, but the colours and leather are beautiful. I doubt that these bags are very practical, but personally I wouldn't mind holding  on to something that looks this soft. 


Of course Zara already created it's own, low-cost, look-a-like and I couldn't resist ordering it. If it turns out I don't like this trend so much afterall, I can still use it as a real lunch bag (or preferably a cosmetics bags). Now, i'm very very curious to hear your opinions. I can imagine a lot of you won't be very fond of these bags. But I would be also be suprised if not a single one of you isn't the slightest bit tempted by that lxururious shade of pastel blue ? 

One more day and my exams are finally over !
