Marant, keeping it real...

In the past few years Marant's collections have been very influential. I can imagine that quite a few designers are a little dissapointed they didn't think of creating THE sneaker that would even attract the most unsporty of us and create a whole new "type" of footwear. Others might not be very pleased with the fact that her "cowboy and hippie inspired" nochalent looks are considered more chic and stylish, than many of the more complex ladylike outfits they created. Oh well,I actually don't know how other designers feel about the impact she had on how many women dress nowadays. But what I can tell you, is what I thought of the latest, fall-winter 2013- collection....

Let's start by saying I had high expectations...

I was looking forward to a collection with, once again, a very strong Marant identity.. 

Unique compared to other collections, but in a very wearable, simple way.

After seeing the show I definitely had the " wow I want to wear all of this" effect ( like I have every time I enter a Zara store). The collection  has a very high " cool factor" and I think it will sell well, but I can't say I found the designs very refreshing or impressive. Maybe, for me, it misses that certain "sophistication" I admired in the Balenciaga, Dior and Proenza shows ?  

Nevertheless, the chance of me wearing any of these outfits seems much more real than of many other runwaylooks.  And probably the " down to earth-ness" of this brand is exactly what makes it so popular.

I haven't read any reviews yet and I'm very curious to see how this collection was evaluated by the "experts", but of course I'd love to hear your opinions aswell. 

Don't these boots remind you a little of iceskates ? And don't you absolutely want a long thin scarf for next fall ? And maybe one of those studded/embellished skirts ?
